A Brooklyn resident hailing from Virginia, DJ Allison takes pride in being knowledgeable about many genres. She got her start in the music business by studying classical singing and hosting several local radio shows at James Madison University, and has grown up with diverse musical taste. One of her greatest assets is knowing how to fuse multiple styles into one performance to please all audiences.
During her years as a one-woman DJ and emcee, she has had high-energy performances at venues in Virginia, DC and now New York City. In addition to her full- time work in the wedding and private event circuit, she has held multiple popular club residencies where reading the crowd becomes imperative. She has been featured at high-profile venues such as Brooklyn Bowl, Soho House, the Mandarin Oriental, the New York Palace, the Plaza Hotel, and many more venues throughout the Tri-State area.
Allison has had the fortune to perform at several “Today Show” and NBC events, including at the X Factor premiere party in 2012. In addition to being a featured act at popular clubs and music festivals such as CMJ 2013, Allison has also had the opportunity to open for several celebrity DJ’s in New York City. Most recently, Allison was a featured artist at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014 in Las Vegas, where she DJ’d for international attendees in support of audio brand Voxx International. From weddings to fashion events to private dance parties, Allison knows how to get people on the dance floor, and recognizes DJing as an art form that can transform any event into a memorable experience.
