It was twelve years ago that Bobby Attiko was a featured vocalist and Musical Director of Harris Lane's popular dance band. Harris already knew that Bobby had the stage presence and charisma that makes for a great entertainer. What he needed to learn was how to lead a dance band. Working closely together, Harris and Bobby developed a special bond, with Harris taking Bobby under his wing to teach him the nuances of leading a band. Since 2004, Bobby has led his own regular "set" band that has, in a relatively short period of time, become one of the most sought-after private party dance bands in the New York metropolitan area.
A native of Nigeria, Bobby Attiko is the grandson of his country's tribal chief. Bobby moved to New York as a child. He attended Bayside High School for the Performing Arts, where he was selected as a member of the highly competitive All City High School Chorus, which is comprised of the top singers in the New York City public schools. Furthering his musical studies, Bobby earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Business with a minor in Audio Engineering at Five Towns College on Long Island.
Since graduating from college, Bobby has become a full time performer. He has been featured on NBC's “The Apprentice,” the HBO television series “Oz,” the feature film “Shaft” starring Samuel L. Jackson, “106 & Park on BET,” as a commercial jingle singer for the Toyota Rav 4, has appeared in Gotham magazine, has performed with Harris Lane at Sean (P. Diddy) Combs' 35th birthday bash, on NBC's “Today” show and twice on their popular “Today Throws A Wedding” segment, and on wedding features on the “CBS Morning News” and “News 12 Long Island.”
